Triple Exposure Mural in the City

July 18, 2010 , , , , , , , , , ,

This summer we have begun work on our THIRD mural (how time flies!), which will decorate the outer wall of a bus station on Faisal Street, a busy highway in the center of Nablus. Our new mural students take the TYO bus down to the street each day and work on the mosaic with mural teacher Kelsey and her committed band of class volunteers!

Work has progressed quickly as the group goes through the mosaic-making process:

Take some blue tiles, broken into pieces…

Bring in some purple…

Mix some grout…

And make them into a mosaic mural!

Mural teacher Kelsey and class volunteer Mohammed direct the tiling process

The completed mural will depict children flying kites (a very popular pastime here) with rolling hills in the background.
