Mural Completed at El Ein Girls’ School

May 12, 2011

For the first of this summer’s murals, Mural teacher Rimah went to the UNRWA girls’ school in El Ein refugee camp in Nablus. Working with seventeen girls from the school, she brainstormed ideas for the scene. Together, they came up with an idyllic park landscape, based on the ideas of the environment and childhood play, to paint across two walls of the playground.

Photo of the Week

March 20, 2011

Odai is quite shy in class, but has clearly been paying attention as he brought in some wonderful photographs from the take-home assignment last week! He took this one while out with his big brother. Odai has one brother, three sisters, and loves football and riding horses.

Nabulsi Cinema: Now Playing

September 20, 2010

Explore the origins of what I’m sure will soon be a burgeoning film industry in Nablus: the short films made by Triple Exposure students! See the work written, acted, animated, filmed, and edited by Taha, Mahmoud, Hiba, Suzan, Hanadi, Mohammed, Mumin, Yaseen, Hala, Mujahed — the list goes ever on. Characters range from a Palestinian police officer to a young boy with big dreams to a young girl who unexpectedly finds herself on a magical journey! The kids have developed their skills in set design, framing, and composition in the photography and mural classes, allowing us to now focus much more on films this fall. So stay tuned for new releases!
